Overview

• Work out how much alcohol has formed in the wine.

Basic facts: Fermented degrees on the hydrometer
(with Oechslescale) divided by 8 = % alcohol by volume.

Start
Fermenting finished

Measure the must before fermentation begins, make a note of the
hydrometer (with Oechslescale) reading.

Measure again when bottling.
The reading divided by 8 = the % alcohol by volume.
